Is there anything more boring than fences? Cold and gray iron fences or three planks placed after one another. So it is just brilliant that someone has taken something so boring and made it look interesting. That someone is Dutch design house Demakersvan, and they have called this project The Lace Fence. The metal fences that they have been using are now shaped like flowers. Mixing up something soft and gentle with something rough and industrial to make a strong contrast was definitely their goal. It is hostility versus kindness, and craft versus industry. The purpose with this project is to make people think how we have modified our environment. Imagine if every fence in your city or wherever you live had a nice design like this one. That would probably cheer up a lot of people going to school or work, or just passing by. Another thing that is as cold as fences are parked cars so dirty from all the pollution that you can draw on the windows. That is exactly what this artist did when he passed dirty cars in his town.
